A visit to Winlaton to take on Gateshead Storm A beckons with a 12:30 kick off as it forms a part of a double header for Storm who have their national Conference League team playing afterwards.

With the Rockets having beaten reigning champions, Jarrow Vikings in their last match, the Rockets are keen to maintain their good early season form.

To add further interest to the fixture, the match is being played as a double-header league and cup match meaning he Rockets could progress to the next round of the North East cup if successful.

Despite several absences, Head Coach, Dave Townend is able to name a 19 man squad ready to take on what is expected to be a physical battle.

Daniel Pattison and Ryan Moore are set for their Rockets debuts while Jamie Dowd, Karl Campbell, Kieran McLaughlin and Huseyin Yilmaz make their first appearances of the season.

Adam Scott and Danny Gilroy also return to the squad after missing out for the last match, with Fraser Boldy, Liam Hawthorn, Thomas Callighan, Michael Mitchell, Jordan Robinson, Kieran Bruce and Sam Turnbull Johnson all unavailable.

“We’re showing good strength and depth and the quality of the side has stayed high even with several changes from the last game” said Townend.

“The pitch at Winlaton is on a bit of a hill and the grass is a bit longer than the Kingston park pitch so we will need to adapt.

The forwards are looking forward to the battle and if we can improve on the areas we’ve highlighted in the last match and training, we should see further improvement in our performance.”
